Meet the Owner
Justin Morgan-Parmett
Owner, Float Away
Justin Morgan-Parmett is the owner of Float Away and a long-time float enthusiast. He came to Vermont as a student in the mid-1990s. Since then, he and his family have lived across the northern U.S., including Vermont, Minnesota, and Washington, before returning home to Vermont in 2016.
For over 25 years, Justin was a university lecturer and worked in academic debate, helping students around the world find their voice. About five years ago, he began dealing with chronic pain and was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia. After attending the Comprehensive Pain Program at UVM Health, he discovered floating. From the first visit, he was hooked; it was the first time in a long while that things felt quieter and more manageable.
That experience prompted a pivot: stepping back from years of teaching people to speak, and moving toward helping people access the quiet. His goal is to make a high-quality float and wellness experience available and welcoming to everyone.
